History

Norway’s new national treasure Frescohallen is a part of spectacular historical building of Bergen Børs Hotel beautifully situated on the west coast of Norway. The building was designed by Frank Wilhelm Schiertz in late classicist style and built in 1861-62. In 1893 an additional floor, red brick and soapstone was added by architect Lars Solberg. Today Bergen Børs is considered as the most important neo–renaissance building in the city.

Frescohallens high ceilings were painted by Axel Revold in 1921-23 with the motifs linked to Bergen's business life.

The interior of the new restaurant is designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune - the Swedish architects behind K5 in Tokyo and Nobis in Stockholm.

Opened in May 2022 the restaurant is quickly becoming one of the places to be in Bergen. Probably because of the Fresco experience; the glamour of a bygone age infused with a contemporary soul. At Frescohallen meals are served all hours of the day and night. Local and fresh, with focus on seafood, grill and signature dishes based on sharing. Enjoy dining while listening to DJ sets that create a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
